One of Tourism Research Australia's committees is the Tourism Forecasting Committee (TFC) which has just released its latest report. The key figures from this report (which is available by clicking here are detailed below.

The outlook for 2010 is cautiously optimistic, with improvements forecast across all key segments: inbound travel up 4.3 per cent, outbound travel up 4.1 per cent and domestic visitor nights up 2.3 per cent.

The economic value of domestic tourism up 3 per cent to $65.3 billion, International visitor consumption to rise by 3.1 per cent to $26.3 billion, and real tourism consumption to increase by 3 per cent to $91.6 billion.

That's a lot of jobs servicing and being supported by tourism and the future is looking bright.
